I reach the bar and place the empty glasses down. I hope I get Rayjay again; she seems really nice and I would like to talk more to her. It reminds me that I need to call my mom tomorrow. I haven’t spoken to her all week.

I don’t even know what I’m going to say. I know she will know I have something on my mind, but after everyone pointing out to me that I overthink, I now know how she can read me easily. I’ll just tell her I’m dating, but I don’t want to keep this from her.

I always tell her everything.

I guess I’m scared of what she’s going to say. I know my dad will have a heart attack when he finds out I’m seeing not just one guy, but three guys. Then I will have to explain how the relationship works.

Do the guys’ parents know about their love lives? Probably not. They just have sex, but will they ever mention me to them?

I bite my lip, knowing the longer I put it off, the harder it's going to be to just speak the words. I just hope this works as I will be embarrassed if, in a week’s time, I have to tell them it didn’t work out.

I’m tapping the bar with my nails when three cocktails are placed on my empty tray. I look up to see Jesse pouring three more shots of tequila. “Penny for your thoughts?” He laughs. “I didn’t want to interrupt the conversation you were having with yourself. I asked Ray what you ordered last time and assumed you would want it again.” He places the shots and lemons.

“Sorry. That’s great, thank you.” I hand him the money. When he hands me my change, his fingers linger on mine. “Thank you,” I say again.

“It looks like you have a couple of admirers.” He points down the bar and the same guys who bought the green shots salute me with their drinks, and I give them a little wave.

“I just hope they don’t come over. Not in the mood to try and explain that I’m taken. And not in the mood for them to try and hit on me either.” I rub my forehead.

“Someone is a little wound up tonight. Are you sure you’re okay? You looked like you were fine five minutes ago.”

Has he been watching me?

“I’m fine. I just need these drinks to do their job. I need to get out of my own head for the night. I think when we head over to that club Trix was talking about, the loud music will help.”

“I think if you keep up with these shots, you will meet your goal. Just don’t overdo it. I don’t think you want to throw up on that pretty dress of yours.” With that, he serves the next customer. I take the tray over to the table and Clarissa groans when she spots the tequila.

“Are you trying to kill me? I can still taste the last one in my throat.
